NBA Bwari Branch (Cradle Bar) Led By The Vice Chairman, Anayisi Agnes Fache-Omuya Esq Visits Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre Following An Invitation From The Hon. Chief Judge of the FCT To All Stakeholders In The Criminal Justice Sector

In response to an invitation extended by the Honourable Chief Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Hon. Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf, to All Stakeholders in the Criminal Justice Sector, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Bwari Branch on the 17th July 2025 participated in the visit to the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje as part of an ongoing initiative aimed at decongesting custodial facilities within the FCT.

The visit, which took place yesterday was **led by the Vice Chairman of the NBA Bwari Branch and Chairman of the Human Rights Committee, Anayisi Agnes Fache-Omuya Esq. alongside other committed members of the Branch. The exercise formed part of a judicial intervention programme designed to identify inmates who have been awaiting trial over prolonged periods, with a view to facilitating their access to justice through legal assistance, payment of fines and compensation or appropriate court referrals.

The Vice Chairman specially appreciates the Chairman of the Branch for his unwavering support, and extends her gratitude to all members who participated and contributed to making this project a success.

The NBA Bwari Branch remains committed to upholding the fundamental rights of all individuals, promoting access to justice, and strengthening the legal framework for human rights protection within the FCT and beyond.
