A rights activist and Legal Practitioner, have added his voice to the planned protest match by the Executive and Members of the NBA, Lagos Branch, according to him ” This is a welcome development, it sends a sound message that no institution no matter how well recognized can be bigger than the law: it is the height of verbal recklessness for the Leadership of the Nigerian Navy to refer to our Learned friend Vice Admiral Olaniyi Labinjo (RTD) as a ” Deserter” as such provocative comment is a direct challenge to the rule of law and a subsisting Court Judgement.
I also commend the erudite Mrs. Uchenna Akingbade, led Exco and the members of Lagos Branch, for the protest. On similar issues, Oaikhena Osagie, also used the medium to commend the Nigerian Bar Association, for the Public interest suit as it concerns the Enforcement of vehicle tinted glass permit, he concluded by saying that the Bar is moving forward and the common man in the society are fast beginning to understand the noble roles played by the Nigerian Bar Association in protecting the rule of Law.
