At the plenary session of the recently concluded NBA Annual General Conference (AGC), Mr. Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN a respected Senior Advocate of Nigeria and past Chairman of the NBA Lagos Branch shared valuable insights on the role of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) within the Lawyers and the broader society.
According to him, people are naturally drawn to value.
When the Association consistently demonstrate integrity, excellence, and commitment to justice, society will not only recognize but also respect and follow their lead. He emphasized that if the NBA remains true to its core values; upholding the rule of law, defending justice, and promoting professional development it will continue to stay relevant and command respect both within and outside the legal community.
Mr. Akangbe SAN, who has long been an advocate for active involvement in the NBA, stressed that the Association must become member centric by looking out for the welfare of Lawyers and helping them create value and grow. In doing so, it not only strengthens the legal profession but also reaffirms the indispensable role of lawyers in shaping a just and equitable society.
