D’ Independent Attorneys have filed an urgent petition demanding the immediate dismissal of Quick Response Unit (QRU) members and the redeployment of the Kogi State Commissioner of Police for their alleged complicity with the Kogi State Government in the unlawful arrest and prolonged detention of Abdulhameed Sadiq. Sadiq is currently hospitalized.
The petition seeks N10 billion in compensation for Sadiq’s health deterioration and human rights violations. A public apology from Hajia Habibat Onumoko (who reportedly refused service, insisting on official capacity despite personal actions), the Kogi State Government, and the Nigeria Police Force is also demanded within seven days. Failure to comply will lead to further legal action.
